Application<\/span><br>The Rules for the Construction and Certification of Freight Containers(hereinafter referred to as \u201cthe Rules\u201d) apply to containers complying with the International Standards ISO Series 1 Freight containers. Non-ISO containers or containers of special types not fully covered in the Rules are to be specially considered.<br>\nWhen authorized by an Administration, which is a signatory to the International Convention for Safe Containers(CSC), and upon request, the certification procedure may be extended and containers surveyed for compliance with the provisions of the convention, and certified thereto in the manner prescribed.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:html --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:html --><br><span style=\"color: #339900;\">2. Definitions<\/span><br>Terms and symbols used in the Rules are defined as follows unless otherwise specially provided\uff1a<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(a)\u300c\u6700\u5927\u64cd\u4f5c\u7e3d\u8cea\u91cf\u6216\u984d\u5b9aR\u300d\u4fc2\u6307\u8ca8\u6ac3\u8207\u5176\u8ca8\u7269\u4e4b\u6700\u5927\u5bb9\u8a31\u7e3d\u5408\u8cea\u91cf(\u55ae\u4f4d\u516c\u65a4)\uff0c\u5176\u91cd\u91cf\u5247\u4ee5Rg (\u55ae\u4f4d\uff1a\u725b\u9813\uff1bg = 9.8m\/s<sup>2<\/sup>)\u8868\u793a\u3002<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tTare, T, is the mass (unit\uff1akg) of the empty container.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(c)\u300c\u6700\u5927\u5141\u8a31\u8ca8\u7269\u8cea\u91cfP\u300d\u4fc2R\u8207T\u4e4b\u8cea\u91cf(\u55ae\u4f4d\uff1a\u516c\u65a4)\u5dee\u503c\uff0c\u5176\u91cd\u91cf\u4ee5Pg(\u55ae\u4f4d\uff1a\u725b\u9813\uff1bg = 9.8 m\/s<sup>2<\/sup>)\u8868\u793a\u3002<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(d)\tOverall external dimensions are the maximum external dimensions of the container including any permanent attachments, and are designated by H, W and L (unit\uff1amm) respectively.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(e)\tInternal dimensions are the minimum internal dimensions of the container including any permanent attachments except top corner fittings.<br>Container types are grouped according to the mode of transport, categories of cargo and the physical characteristics of the container and can be grouped into General cargo container, Specific cargo container(including thermal container, tank container, dry bulk container, and named cargo type container).<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:html --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:html --><br><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Chapter 2 Certification<\/span><br>1. \u6b32\u7d93\u7531\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u767c\u8b49\u4e4b\u8ca8\u6ac3\uff0c\u5176\u8a2d\u8a08\u3001\u88fd\u9020\u3001\u8a8d\u53ef\u3001\u8a66\u9a57\u53ca\u6aa2\u9a57\u61c9\u7b26\u5408\u672c\u898f\u7bc4\u4e4b\u8981\u6c42\u3002\u8ca8\u6ac3\u5fc5\u9808\u5728\u8a8d\u53ef\u4e4b\u5de5\u5ee0\u88fd\u9020\u3002\u8ca8\u6ac3\u5728\u767c\u8b49\u524d\uff0c\u88fd\u9020\u5ee0\u9808\u63d0\u51fa\u8a73\u7d30\u4e4b\u8a2d\u8a08\u5716\uff0c\u65bc\u4f5c\u539f\u578b\u8a66\u9a57\u8207\u6aa2\u9a57\u5747\u5408\u683c\u5f8c\uff0c\u7372\u5f97\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7c3d\u767c\u4e4b\u578b\u5f0f\u8a8d\u53ef\u8b49\u66f8\u3002<br>2. \u4f9d\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u898f\u7bc4\u4ee5\u5916\u4e4b\u6a19\u6e96\uff0c\u8a2d\u8a08\u88fd\u9020\u4e4b\u67d0\u578b\u5f0f\u8ca8\u6ac3\uff0c\u6216\u5df2\u7d93\u5176\u4ed6\u8a8d\u53ef\u4e4b\u6a5f\u69cb\u8a8d\u53ef\u4e4b\u67d0\u578b\u5f0f\u8ca8\u6ac3\uff0c\u6b64\u578b\u5f0f\u4e4b\u8ca8\u6ac3\u7d93\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u500b\u6848\u7279\u5225\u8003\u616e\u53ca\u8a8d\u53ef\u5f8c\uff0c\u5f97\u4e88\u63a5\u53d7\u3002<br>3. \u7d93\u578b\u5f0f\u8a8d\u53ef\u4e4b\u7cfb\u5217\u8ca8\u6ac3\u7522\u54c1\u6b32\u7372\u5f97\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u4e4b\u8b49\u66f8\uff0c\u61c9\u5728\u7b26\u5408\u672c\u898f\u7bc4\u76f8\u95dc\u898f\u5b9a\uff0c\u65bc\u5efa\u9020\u4e2d\u4e4b\u9069\u7576\u968e\u6bb5\uff0c\u5728\u9a57\u8239\u5e2b\u898b\u8b49\u4e0b\u8a66\u9a57\u8207\u6aa2\u9a57\u5408\u683c\u3002<br>4. \u5de5\u5ee0\u8a8d\u53ef\u6240\u9700\u9001\u5be9\u6587\u4ef6\u5982\u4e0b\uff1a<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(a)\tOutline of works.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tContainer manufacturing procedure.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(c)\tMain facilities for the production.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(d)\tFacilities for tests and inspections.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(e)\tManufacturer\u2019s standards for inspection the process of quality control.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(f)\tOther documents as required by the Society.<br>5. \u578b\u5f0f\u8a8d\u53ef\u6240\u9700\u9001\u5be9\u6587\u4ef6\u5982\u4e0b\uff1a<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(a)\tGeneral arrangement and specification.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tStructural drawing showing materials, scantlings and structural details.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(c)\tTest and inspection procedures.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(d)\tOther documents as required by the Society.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:html --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:html --><br><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Chapter 3 Design<\/span><br>Overall external dimensions of all ISO series 1 freight containers have a unifying nominal width of 8 ft (2,438mm). Those designated by a single letter have a nominal height of 8 ft (2,438mm); those which have a double letter have a height of 8.5 ft (2,591mm); and those designated by X indicates that the height of the container is between 0 and 8 ft (2,438mm). Containers designated by A have a nominal length of 40 ft (12m), B 30 ft (9m), C 20 ft (6m), D 10 ft (3m).<br>E.g., 1BB represents ISO Series 1 container, 30 ft in length, 8.5 ft in height, 8 ft in width.<br>Materials used for strength structures of containers are to be in compliance with the appropriate recognized material standard or, if applicable, the requirements given in Part XI of the \u201cRules for the Construction and Classification of Steel Ships\u201d (hereinafter referred to as \u201cRules for Steel Ships\u201d). Sufficient information of materials containing manufacturing procedures, grades, mechanical properties, the chemical composition, heat treatments, etc. are to be submitted to the Society for approval.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:html --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:html --><br><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Chapter 4 Tests and Inspections<\/span><br>1. \u672c\u7ae0\u6240\u5217\u8a66\u9a57\u53ca\u6aa2\u9a57\u9664\u53e6\u6709\u898f\u5b9a\u5916\uff0c\u50c5\u9069\u7528\u4e00\u822c\u8ca8\u6ac3\u3001\u6eab\u8abf\u8ca8\u6ac3\u53ca\u69fd\u5f0f\u8ca8\u6ac3\u3002\u7279\u6b8a\u8ca8\u6ac3\u4e4b\u8981\u6c42\uff0c\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u5f97\u4fee\u6b63\u6216\u7279\u5225\u8003\u616e\u4e4b\u3002<br>2. \u8a66\u9a57\u53ca\u6aa2\u9a57\u4e4b\u91cf\u5ea6\u8a2d\u5099\u61c9\u7d93\u6821\u6b63\u3002<br>3. \u8ca8\u6ac3\u7d50\u69cb\u6240\u7528\u4e4b\u6750\u6599\u61c9\u8207\u6838\u53ef\u4e4b\u8a2d\u8a08\u898f\u683c\u4e00\u81f4\u3002<br>4. \u5ee0\u5bb6\u61c9\u6aa2\u9001\u6709\u95dc\u5f37\u5ea6\u7d50\u69cb\u53ca\u89d2\u9685\u88dd\u5177\u4e4b\u6750\u6599\u5831\u544a\u3002\u5167\u5bb9\u5305\u62ec\u5c3a\u5bf8\u3001\u6578\u91cf\u3001\u8a02\u8cfc\u4ef6\u6578\u3001\u539f\u6750\u6599\u7210\u865f\u3001\u7b49\u7d1a\u3001\u6a5f\u68b0\u6027\u8cea\u3001\u5316\u5b78\u6210\u5206\u53ca\u71b1\u8655\u7406\u72c0\u6cc1\u7b49\u8cc7\u6599\u3002\u672c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u8a8d\u70ba\u5fc5\u8981\u6642\u5f97\u8981\u6c42\u5728\u5de5\u5ee0\u505a\u6750\u6599\u8a66\u9a57\u7531\u9a57\u8239\u5e2b\u898b\u8b49\u3002<br>5. measurement.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(d)\tWeathertightness tests.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(e)\tStrength tests.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(f)\tStrength tests with one door off operation.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:html --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:html --><br><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Chapter 5 General Cargo Containers<\/span><br>1. \u4e00\u822c\u8ca8\u6ac3\u539f\u578b\u4e4b\u8a8d\u53ef\u61c9\u5b8c\u6210\u524d\u7ae0\u6240\u8ff0\u8a66\u9a57\u53ca\u6aa2\u9a57<br>2. \u7d93\u578b\u5f0f\u8a8d\u53ef\u4e4b\u4e00\u822c\u8ca8\u6ac3\u7522\u54c1\u61c9\u5b8c\u6210\u4e0b\u5217\u8a66\u9a57\u53ca\u6aa2\u9a57\uff1a<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(a)\tVisual inspection, dimensional check and weathertightness test for each container.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tWeighing for containers of a certain number accepted by the Society.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(c)\tStrength tests containing stacking, top lifting, bottom lifting and floor strength tests for one container selected at random from each 50 containers or fraction thereof in same series.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:html --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:html --><br><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Chapter 6 Thermal Containers<\/span><br>1. \u6eab\u8abf\u8ca8\u6ac3\u4e4b\u767c\u8b49\u9664\u9808\u6aa2\u9001\u7b2c\u4e8c\u7ae0\u578b\u5f0f\u8a8d\u53ef\u6240\u9700\u4e4b\u6587\u4ef6\u5916\uff0c\u5c1a\u9808\u6aa2\u9001\uff1a<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(a)\tInsulation construction (including material of insulation, data of heat transmission and details of insulating work).<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tVentilating devices and drainage.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(c)\tSpecification of refrigerating unit and\/or heating equipment (if provided).<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(d)\tThermometers and temperature recording arrangements.<br>2. containers as required in Chapter 5 of the Rules.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tRoof strength test for hanging cargo (if any).<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(c)\tAirtightness test.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(d)\tThermal insulation test.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(e)\tPerformance test of refrigerating.<br>3. Corrective action is to be taken regarding damages before the container is returned to service.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(b)\tAll materials used for repairs are to be the same with or to be equivalent to original construction.
